We left it for just 10 minutes but next time we’d probably leave it a little longer for even better results. It took over a week for our hair to grow back again which we found pretty impressive. Our one gripe is the spray can get stuck in the nozzle, making it hard to release the foam from the can. Part depilatory cream, part skincare savior, this product has an all-star lineup of ingredients that’ll quench dry skin and leave it looking brighter and well-nourished. Aloe vera and shea and cocoa butter belies the cream’s skin-soothing properties—and with the inclusion of volcanic ash, you’re getting a gentle exfoliator that provides a radiant finish.

How many laser sessions are needed to remove hair?

Like other Braun laser hair removal devices we've tried, this one comes in a sturdy carrying case that keeps everything neatly organized under your vanity, or wherever you choose to store it. The unit doesn't call out any specific cooling technology, but our tester said her experience was largely pain-free. "I felt a little zippiness here and there, but nothing I could actually describe as painful—more like a super quick, tiny pinch." It’s a good idea to keep your desired treatment area in mind when selecting an at-home laser hair removal device, especially if you want to cover larger parts on the body.

What To Consider In A Laser Hair Removal Device

These treatments are destroying hair follicles but your body grows new ones. Nood claims proper treatment cycles will lead to about an 80% permanent hair removal rate. To keep strands away for longer, we also applied the Skin Doctors hair no more inhibitor spray two days post-cream application, to boost the performance of the hair removal creams. For those with really sensitive skin, hair removal cream may fill you with dread as the pretty potent formulas certainly aren’t the gentlest.

It’s also helpful to do two passes on the area for better results, so if you are trying to never shave your legs again, this is a long, LONG process. At-home laser hair removal does work, however, like a lot of things on social media, the reality may be different than how it appears. To help you protect your body and your wallet, we help you determine fact from fiction. You can now book your beauty, nails and wellness appointments on our app or on the Fresha website in more than 120 different countries, on top of all the options here in Glendale, United States.

The cream is quite thick but it’s easy enough to apply to the area, if not a little messy. We had to wait around five minutes before we could remove it in the shower with a cloth. You then wipe the cream away gently rather than scrub so it takes a few attempts to completely remove all of the product. While it is a bit awkward and messy, the results are worth it and we enjoyed a hair-free area for two full weeks.

"I found myself really amazed at how effective this was almost instantly," she says. "Within a few weeks, I noticed the dark hair on my skin was growing in far more slowly, and more sparsely, all in about the span of a month." It’s normally recommended that you shave the area you want treated the day before your appointment. Shaving the area helps to prevent thermal damage to your skin’s surface and means the laser will directly target the hair follicle. While there are many spas that offer laser-hair removal, they aren't always performed by qualified or licensed laser techs, as licensing requirements vary by state, and some states have no requirements at all.

We have a passion for wellness, and that’s why more than 100,000 businesses and 450,000 professionals use Fresha's free scheduling tool to power their business. If you have any burning questions — fire away, we’re always listening. Either contact the help centre or email us at With Fresha, it’s prime time for some me-time. Our app users think of Fresha as their go-to guide for Glendale.

Least-Painful Laser Hair Removal Service

No redness, itchiness or sore feeling occurred at any time, and the soothing cream was a great addition to help keep things hydrated. Having more pigment in your skin may confuse the laser, Zeichner cautions, leading to discoloration in the skin. "In general, at-home laser hair removal devices are not optimal for those with sensitive skin or skin of color as the potential risk of irritation, hyperpigmentation, or scarring is increased," Garshick adds.

The 10 Best At-Home Laser Hair Removal Devices, According to the Pros

Being only 100ml, we did use the whole tube to cover both legs, but at less than £6, this was much cheaper than a wax, and the results lasted for around two weeks (but, obviously, this will differ from person to person). Furthermore, Dr. Shirazi adds, "it’s important to wear eye protection and be sure to look for safety features such as skin tone sensors, adjustable intensity setting, and tip cooling mechanisms." Dr. Nazarian adds, "most at-home devices require consistent use up-front, and then infrequent use for maintenance, much like in-office lasers, but they are quite effective." The newly launched Silk'n 7 boasts neat technology, such as optical and galvanic energy for a more effective treatment, a rotatable head for hard to reach areas, and three additional attachments for precision. A smaller version of Foreo's fan-favorite Peach2, the Peach 2 Go offers a larger treatment window, faster flash, and built-in skin cooling system to ensure a comfortable experience. You may have heard of Sev via the Kardashian-Jenner pipeline, and let me tell you, it's more than just a pretty face (but the large LED neon sign and everlasting roses are a fab touch).

Doctors often prescribe oral medications to be used along with topical minoxidil because studies show the combination boosts hair production. Low-dose oral minoxidil (prescribed off-label) has been found to be effective and safe for most patients, Mirmirani says. Other oft-used drugs include finasteride (Propecia) and spironolactone. If you have scarring alopecia or alopecia areata, your doctor may recommend an anti-inflammatory medication such as the JAK inhibitor Olumiant (baricitinib) to help tamp down your immune system. I think the problem with Nood is that, despite being FDA approved and a small wee little device you can use in your bathroom, it’s still a laser.

Our arms didn’t get tired from holding it during our sessions at all. Thanks to the two modes glide and pulse, we were able to treat our selected areas with care and precision. We used the glide for larger surface areas and the pulse for bikini lines. It took a little longer to see results with this one, probably because the directions recommended using the laser only once every two weeks. At week five, we noticed our hair grew in much slower and thinner than before. The price of this device is roughly the same price as one clinical visit for a treatment.

It’s also important to pay attention to the list of usages, as some versions are only safe to use on certain areas. “As soon as you notice hair loss is happening, you should come in,” says Lauren Eckert Ploch, a dermatologist in Aiken, South Carolina. The key here is to always take it slow and not push yourself to limit the changes of scaring.

Multimedia designers work in several different industries, including film, television, advertising, and gaming. Art directors determine the visual style of magazines, advertisements, videos, and other media. They create an overall design and manage a team of production artists who create artwork and layouts. Art directors then review and approve designs, which can include illustrations, graphics, charts, and sets. Print products like magazines, books, posters, and banners continue to meet a need in relaying information to the public.

If this sounds a bit intimidating, keep in mind that this is just a broad-stroke overview of four full years of education. The best part of pursuing a BFA is developing a broad base of skills, all of which can be illustrated (pun intended) in portfolio form! This is typically capped with an internship which allows students to try their hand in a professional environment.

With today’s economy ever moving and changing, the demand for highly skilled designers is constant. You may be looking for an online program so that you can continue working while earning your degree. In step with the times, and helpful to get a job in today’s world, WTAMU requires nine hours of computer art classes. For those interested in going above and beyond, the Department of Art, Theatre, and Dance also offers an option to earn a Graphic Design Honors. Students earn Honors by completing an additional English, History, Computer, and Theatre class.

If you plan to work while earning your degree, you may need to find an asynchronous program or one offering weekend or evening classes. Full-time working students might consider part-time enrollment to make the most of their education. ASU Online’s graphic design BS explores fundamental design principles, focusing primarily on visual communication skills like storytelling and critical thinking. Maryville University of St. Louis offers an online bachelor of fine arts (BFA) in digital media that explores visual communication, design technologies and the future of design.

How will you react when a client wants you to direct their web strategy or coordinate their social media campaigns? In this class, we will research and discuss current interactive marketing strategies and venues. You will then translate your research into the development of practical interactive media projects that can expand the depth of your portfolio. The final presentation should reflect your research and include finalized designs that demonstrate your design expertise and ability to strategically plan the development of interactive graphic design.

However, it can be helpful to learn some of the top programming languages as you will likely work with software engineers and other professionals. A Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design is better than a graphic design bootcamp because of the depth of education and the increased number of job opportunities it provides. That being said, if you already have a degree and are looking to upskill and reskill, a graphic design bootcamp will help you develop specific job-ready skills in a short time. This is because the main difference between a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts is that the majority of your courses in a BFA will be in-studio classes focusing on helping you develop as an artist. A BA will give you a more well-rounded education through literature, history, and other humanities courses and, in the end, let you access a wider range of job opportunities. Although the lure of soft sand and sparkling water is compelling, there’s plenty to see and do here, from lush botanical gardens to mysterious caves.

Jazz Cruises is excited to announce STL Jazz Fest, two nights of amazing music presented by Jazz Cruises, the GOLD standard of jazz at sea since 2001. Botti at Sea ’24 was the first sailing of this program, and, by all standards, it was a runaway hit. Reaching fully reserved status months before sailing was an indication of the excitement the cruise generated, and the sailing only confirmed that the hype was real. Botti at Sea II (’25) sports another amazing lineup and, if possible, Host Chris Botti has vowed to be even more active and involved than he was on Botti at Sea ’24. Jazz Cruises strongly recommends that all guests travel with a valid passport with at least six (6) months validity post-cruise during their sailing. All Guests are required to pay port charges, government taxes and fees, onboard service gratuities for shipboard staff and other charges due and payable to third parties.

Stay tuned for information about The Smooth Jazz Cruise on Land in St. Louis IV. No jazz program would be complete without cocktails, wine and food. The Jazz Cruise takes that to another level by pairing these events with performers who serve as hosts. On two nights of the Cruise (the 1st Night and Formal Night), special shows (“The Jazz Cruise Welcome Show” and “The Jazz Cruise Hall of Fame Show”) are presented in the Celebrity Theatre. Each such show will be performed twice, with half of the guests attending the 1st Show and the other half attending the 2nd Show.

PAST DRUM & BASS EVENTS

In addition to working in other bands, Kevin became the leader of his own groups that have toured all over the world. He has recorded more than 15 albums as a leader, plus several as a co-leader with artists like Orrin Evans and Stanley Jordan. Another large group of musicians are frequent, though not perennial participants, and, whenever possible The Jazz Cruise features a musician who is either new on the scene or simply new to the cruise.

Duane Eubanks

These benchmarks of excellence were cultivated by Anita E. Berry, founder of The Jazz Cruise, during her participation in cruise line sponsored jazz cruise programs during the 1980’s and 1990’s. When learning that the cruise lines were abandoning these programs, Anita took up the challenge of producing the very first full ship charter dedicated to “straight-ahead” jazz. More than 23 years later, The Jazz Cruise remains the only full ship charter of that theme and is the standard by which all music charters are measured. Currently the Millennium Class ships of Celebrity Cruises provide us with the best opportunity to present our programs.

His mother, Vera Eubanks, was Kenny Barron’s first piano teacher. Duane crossed over to play and record with Alicia Keys, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Wu-Tang Clan, and Kirk Franklin. He has played the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center, as well as toured throughout Europe, Japan, and the Middle East. His most recent albums as a bandleader are Things of that Particular Nature and DE3-Live at Maxwell’s, both on Sunnyside. Alonzo Bodden, winner of Last Comic Standing and Jazz Cruises’ Comedian-in-Chief, will perform his hilarious show for an additional two nights of late-night entertainment and laughs.

He began playing trumpet at 11 but didn’t consider music as a career until college. While studying for a business degree at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Duane joined the university’s jazz band. He jumpstarted himself into opportunities to play with jazz luminaries Stanley Turrentine, Shirley Scott, Charles Fambrough and Clark Terry. Duane studied jazz in master classes at Temple University with the legendary Dr. Billy Taylor. He was later tapped by the late pianist Mulgrew Miller to join his ensemble, Wingspan. Acclaimed bassist/bandleader Dave Holland invited Duane to play with his big band on a pair of Grammy® award-winning albums.

In 2008, Washington played with The Blue Note 7, an all-star septet formed in honor of Blue Note Records’ 70th Anniversary. His more than 400 recordings speak to a constant demand for his talents, including performing with longtime colleague Bill Charlap on this cruise. Robin Eubanks is one of the premier jazz trombonists of his generation. Whether performing with his groups, EB3 or Mental Images, or with the critically acclaimed Dave Holland Quintet and Big Band, Robin is an artist whose impact on audiences has proven powerful and lasting. Robin has recorded more than seven albums as a leader featuring his original music. Kevin would go on to work with jazz greats such as Art Blakey, Slide Hampton, McCoy Tyner, Sam Rivers, Roy Haynes, Dave Holland, Ron Carter and others.

If it were our choice, every guest would purchase trip insurance. Your investment for the cruise should be protected, so we urge you to purchase trip insurance. Please remember, restrictions do apply, so to secure the broadest coverage be careful to apply for the insurance in a timely manner. With both The Smooth Jazz Cruise ‘25.1 & ‘25.2 sailing several months from now, there will be cancellations creating availability in categories currently marked JOIN WAITLIST. Cruise 101: The Best Time to Book a Cruise

Moreover, the destination you are hoping to sail to will make a difference in what sales you find during these months. If there is a high demand for your specific sailing that has been booked well in advance, it is unlikely that they will offer any jaw-dropping sales a few months prior to departure. With that, though, you are never guaranteed to find the cheapest rates of the year during these months. Sometimes, cruise lines will inflate their prices right before a sale, so 30% off everyone's fare might not be as great of a steal as you think it is. The winter holiday season is always significantly more expensive, she says.

What About Waiting For Sales to Book/Sail?

In other words, if you can sail at the least expensive time, your cruise can be a sharp discount off the peak price. Instead, what will have the biggest impact on what you pay for a cruise is when you sail, not when you book. In our experience, there isn’t much difference in the time of year that you book. For example, the same cruise isn’t automatically cheaper if you buy in January versus if you buy in July. As you can see, the prices for this trip are similar from one year to the next, though there is some variation across weeks.

But whatever the reason, cruise lines tend to be extremely generous during wave season. It’s not uncommon to see 2-for-1 fares, heavily discounted fares (sometimes as high as 70%), free excursions, cabin upgrades and much more. First, they’re looking to capitalize during cold winter months when more consumers are fantasizing about a tropical, toes-in-the-sand vacation. Second, they know that extended families are far more likely to discuss big trips—like international cruises—over the holiday dinner table versus some random weekend in July.

For many cruise lines that means the flexibility to jump to a better promotion later if one comes available. Savings, sure, but also bonus amenities or whatever else might be valid and on offer with the promotion. Since it is after the holiday season, most people have either finished a holiday vacation and have no intention of booking another one soon. Many river lines also offer Christmas market cruises in November and December to Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe.

When to Book a Cruise for the Best Price

This is due to the enjoyment they provide and seasonality, sailing at a very specific time of year to correspond to Europe’s holiday markets schedule. It’s also thanks to their uniqueness among cruise experiences worldwide. Delta Air Lines is another airline that allows members to earn airline miles when booking cruises through its portal. Booking through SkyMilesCruises.com helps you earn Delta SkyMiles on your purchase.

During this span, which sees industry-wide sales, there's a chance the cost of your dream cruise might substantially decrease. It's also a window to discover booking perks such as complimentary upgrades, prepaid tips, or onboard spending credits. It’s always best to use a cruise comparison website to find and snap up awesome cruise packages at bargain prices.

The online booking experience is getting better all the time, especially with our expert vacation planners on call. If you’re more comfortable going with a travel advisor, though, there are also great benefits. Travel professionals can help guide you through the whole process of choosing which ship to cruise on and what kind of stateroom is the best fit for you and your family and keep you organized along the way.

Skies during this period are mostly clear, temperatures are warm and crowds are smaller (with the exception of Christmas and New Years). That's true if you're after bright and warm Riviera Maya weather or optimal conditions in the Mexican Riviera on the Pacific Coast as well. While Australia's weather varies, winter temperatures between June and early September are rarely as extreme in North America.

What are some popular cruise destinations?

Even so, you can expect temperate weather year-round, and far less humidity than islands farther south. If it's too chilly for the beach in the shoulder season, you can always try out the island's many golf courses and spas. Check out Hawaii cruises in May, when the weather is relatively dry as well.

"Princess' summer promotion was its best promotion of the year," says Jo Ann Buening, a Wisconsin-based travel agent for Travel Leaders. She claims that its fall offer is the line's "next best promotion." People willing to book a year or so out benefited from great value. While there might not be a best day to book a cruise, agents do acknowledge that there are better times of year to book cruises. West Coast travelers can find great bargain deals on cruises to Mexico, too, adds Leppert. According to new data from search engine CruiseWatch.com, travelers looking for a discount are better off booking their next cruise on a Thursday. Keep in mind that Christmas and New Year's sailings almost always operate at full capacity, so don't get your heart set on last-minute upgrade offers.

For example, if you book early in the year you might save money compared to booking in the height of summer. Like birds and whales, cruise ships also migrate to specific locations based on the seasonal weather patterns. This is why Alaskan cruises are in the summer and not at Christmas time. For other cruise lines, you can apply the same strategy or also search one month before your vacation and pick up great last-minute deals. There is a great deal of stateroom availability in the cruise industry overall. You will be ahead of the game to likely find more availability of cabins on the ship and great deals that will get your vacation off to the best start possible.

(For example, Nassau in The Bahamas see about nine inches of rain in August.) Late winter and early spring months are drier. Meanwhile, you’ll see the highest fares during summer, Spring Break, and the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays. Say there was a month or two out of the year when cruises were drastically cheaper for you to book, no matter when you sailed. If that were the case, passengers would catch on and wait until then to book.

Why you should avoid booking last minute cruises

High season is when you'll find the most cruise options, highest prices, most crowded ships and best weather. The shoulder season coincides with moderate demand and relatively nice weather, and fares will be lower. Low season is the cheapest season -- and least busy -- but may mean sacrifices in what you can see and possible cancellations due to weather.

When to Book Christmas and New Year’s Ocean Cruises

The mega ships are always primed to be the best first choice for families, whether Norwegian’s 4,200-passenger Escape or the newest Oasis class of ships beginning with the new Wonder of the Seas. Their emphasis is on activities like adrenaline-rushing water slides, surf simulators, and three-tiered race tracks. In some ports like Barcelona or Venice, it is easy to venture off on your own without an excursion. Others, however, may require longer drives or special access passes making excursions a safer bet. There are several websites with exhaustive cruise deck plan maps that offer advice and user-generated feedback, almost like a sea-going counterpart to SeatGuru’s airline seat maps.

What About Waiting For Sales to Book/Sail?

Planning a cruise vacation involves many decisions, one of the most important being when to book your cruise. The best time to book a cruise depends on several factors, including when you want to travel, the destination, and the type of cruise ship and cabin you desire. Generally speaking, the earlier you book, the better selection and prices you will find. However, there are certain times of year when cruise lines offer sales and last-minute deals that could score you a bargain.

You want the cheapest possible price and don't mind being flexible about your cruise ship and itinerary. This strategy is best for cruisers who live close to a homeport and don't have to rely on last-minute airfare. Generally speaking, the best prices for a cruise are when a new sailing is put on sale and all the cabins are open to book. Inventory is at its highest, and prices only go up as rooms get booked.

These Are the Best Times to Book a Cruise for Deals, Optimal Rooms, and More

Your best bet is to always book as far in advance as possible, you could try for a last-minute booking instead. While it might be cold in North America, the weather stays fairly consistent in the Caribbean. For instance, the average high temperature for Cozumel is about 84 degrees in January and 91 degrees during the peak of August. Back in 1844, the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) offered the world’s first leisure cruise, taking passengers from Southampton to Gibraltar, Athens or Malta.

Some travelers actually book cruises that have at least one or two sea days, especially if it’s a larger ship with loads of amenities like water parks, race car tracks, zip lining, and multiple shows. If you're looking to leverage new cruise deals, the best way to book a cruise is by starting early since prices continue to be robust. People haven’t traveled for a year or more, so they’re spending more money on the trips they’re going on—upgrading to a nicer suite, perhaps,” says Spencer Brown. This could make it harder to secure the cabin you want on the sailing you want. A week or so is the sweet spot for most first-time cruisers, which will offer three to six ports. Three-day sampler itineraries won’t allow you to explore more than one or two destinations, and you can’t decompress as thoroughly, either.

From our findings, here are the top cruise booking sites for your next vacation, plus the pros and cons they offer travelers. The kids are out of school, spirits are high, and the weather is just right. Unlike a traditional hotel that you can wait to pay for upon arrival, cruise lines get some of your money the second you place your deposit. Plus, your payment will be due in full weeks before you actually lay eyes on your ship.

While there are exceptions and times when a promotion seems lucrative, the best time to book a cruise is when you see a price that fits in your budget and and seems like a good price. If you think it's a good deal, go ahead and pull the trigger on booking it. If you book well in advance (usually 90+ days), you can usually get some sort of price guarantee included with your fare. Book a fare, and if you see it drop later, you can call the cruise line and get the price difference either refunded or get the difference back as onboard credit.

This means there is little penalty to reserving as early as possible. Thankfully, all well-known cruise lines have ships that sail there; some even have their own islands, like Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Cay or Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay. The scarcer the cruise, the further out you need to book -- and that can apply to sailings on brand-new cruise ships, too. But you might not even need to pay out-of-pocket for trip insurance because many credit cards offer travel insurance as a built-in benefit to customers who pay for travel expenses on that card. If you're worried your trip plans being disrupted by bad weather or a change of plans, travel insurance might help. This optional standalone insurance can be purchased separately from your cruise bookings.

Booking a cruise just days before sailing should only be attempted by travelers within an easy drive of the cruise port. You should also make sure that you have time to get any necessary documentation, as well as make related travel plans. Within a given cruise sale's promotional period, I've seen cabin prices fluctuate daily and I've seen them stay the same for a week.

So, if they book far enough in advance, they will have the best opportunity to choose a cabin which suits them rather than a cabin which is the pick of the left-overs. Cruise lines tend to be very flexible in their approach to early depositing. In my business, I often plainly tell clients to book when they think they want an itinerary, as soon as possible, the earlier in advance, the better. As long as there are clear terms regarding any penalty period, time is on their side. May in Bermuda is your best bet for shoulder season travel if you're after discounts and the highest likelihood for sunny skies and warm temperatures.

Knowing when to book that dream cruise vacation quite often depends on the destination you want to sail to, and cruise experience you're after. Travelers can filter search results by destination, cruise line or departure port on various ships. This site offers cruises for every type of traveler, from budget to luxury, and every type of ship, from riverboats to mega-ships. While booking early or traveling during the fall are fantastic ways to save on your cruise vacation, FunPoints® help your budget too! The fun starts with your very first purchase, where you can earn bonus FunPoints, which can be redeemed for a statement credit. Royal Caribbean Blog posted a poll on their Instagram asking their followers how early in advance they like to book their cruises, with the most common response (47%) being 6-12 months prior.

If you want a particular cabin on the ship, sail on a popular theme cruise or are using airline miles for the flights, then you may need to book early to ensure your needs are met. For destinations like Alaska, pre/post hotels are tight in Seattle so booking early is encouraged. Then you’ll have to repeat that feat to get the best deal on cruises, with 5 am being the ideal time to get the best deal. Whereas Australian and South American cruises are the best during the winter holidays where the sun is good and warm.
